Exemplo:

  • "When I got to the office I realised I had left my wallet at home."

  • "Yesterday I got home, opened the fridge, got a cold drink and turned on the TV."

Estrutura do Past Perfect

had + past participle

Afirmativo – Past Perfect

I, you, we, they, he, she, it = had + past participle

Exemplos:

  • "When I arrived the meeting had already finished."

Negativo – Past Perfect

I, you, we, they, he, she, it = hadn't (had not) + past participle

Exemplos:

  • "He hadn't eaten before the test, so he got very hungry in the middle of it."

I, you, we, they, he, she, it = Had + subject + past participle

Exemplos:

  • "Had they eaten before they left?" (Eles tinham comido antes de sair?)
